Mobility Program
The Mobility Program is designed to financially assist people with physical disabilities by granting them a rebate of up to $1,000 for the installation of driving aids or mobility aid equipment in their new Ford Canada vehicle.
Modifications to vehicles for this industry, whether the installation of driver aids and mobility aid equipment or structural modifications, must be carried out in a manner that maintains the integrity and safety features that were originally built into every Ford vehicle.
It is by respecting these modification directives that we will have the assurance of the various installers that the adapted vehicles remain compliant with all Canadian motor vehicle safety standards. This will give the customer the assurance that they will receive a quality vehicle that has been modified by a company that meets the necessary compliance requirements.
Important reminder: Mobility Program payments will be made in the name of a client/individual only. Claims made on behalf of a business will be rejected and payment will not be issued.
Reimbursement of up to $1,000 for costs incurred for driving aids or mobility assistance equipment.
The vehicle modification must be carried out within six months of vehicle delivery.

- Lifting devices for wheelchairs or others
- Manual or other driving controls
- Door opener
- Elevators
- Parking brake
- Electrically operated power seats
- Steering devices
- Wheelchair restraints
Authorized Automotive Conversion Centers:
To qualify for reimbursement, eligible equipment must be installed by:
A Ford Quality Intermediate Installer (required for structural modifications to the vehicle).
If the vehicle conversion is subcontracted by a company other than a Canadian company, the applicant must provide proof that the conversion can be imported into Canada. He must therefore determine whether the manufacturer is registered on Transport Canada's prior authorization list with regard to the specific adaptation for which the vehicle was modified.
